FeedX uses Shopify product information and the direction a merchant provides to create a private AI-assisted draft. It does not request customer or order scopes. The merchant reviews every draft before choosing whether to apply it.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how FeedX ("FeedX," "we," "us," or "our") processes information in connection with FeedX Copycat (the "App"). The App is designed for Shopify merchants who want to improve product titles, descriptions, and storefront highlights.
For information that a Shopify merchant controls, the merchant is generally the controller and FeedX acts as a service provider or processor. Shopify also processes information under its own terms and privacy notices.
2. Information we process
Shop and authorization information
When a merchant installs or authorizes the App, we process the shop domain, granted access scopes, Shopify access credentials, refresh-token and expiry information where applicable, installation status, and related authentication metadata. Shopify and AI provider credentials stored by the App are encrypted at rest.
Product information and merchant input
When a merchant searches for a product or requests a rewrite, the App may process the product identifier, title, handle, description, vendor, product type, tags, image URLs and alt text, product status, and timestamps. It also processes the merchant's selected tone, format, writing angle, language, length, keywords, audience, category context, and custom instructions.
Drafts and application records
We store information needed to operate and audit the workflow, including source snapshots and digests, generated titles and descriptions, generated and applied highlights, approval state, rewrite status, errors, job identifiers, and relevant timestamps. These records help the merchant review drafts, avoid stale overwrites, apply approved content, and troubleshoot failures.
Plan, usage, and technical information
We may process Shopify plan and subscription status, monthly rewrite counts, AI model and provider identifiers, input and output token counts, estimated processing cost, latency, external request identifiers, error details, IP address, browser and device information, request logs, and cookies or session data needed for authentication, security, and service operation.
The App's product-writing workflow requests product access. It does not request Shopify customer or order scopes and is not designed to store customer- or order-level information.
3. How we use information
We process information to:
- authenticate shops and maintain authorized Shopify sessions;
- search for and load products selected by a merchant;
- prepare source-grounded AI writing requests and return private drafts;
- save and apply content that the merchant explicitly approves;
- write approved summary highlights to the App's Shopify product metafield;
- enforce plan limits and confirm subscription status;
- secure, monitor, debug, and improve the App; and
- comply with law and respond to valid privacy or support requests.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use customer data for advertising or customer profiling because this App does not request or store customer data for its product-writing workflow.
4. AI processing
When a merchant requests a rewrite, FeedX sends a bounded product evidence package to the AI provider configured for the shop. That package may include the current product title and description, vendor, product type, tags, image alt text, and the merchant's writing preferences and instructions.
The AI provider processes that information to return a proposed title, description, highlights, and change summary. FeedX records limited operational details about the request, such as the model, token usage, latency, provider request identifier, and success or failure status. Provider handling is also subject to the provider's applicable terms and privacy commitments.
AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or similar to content produced for others. The App is built around merchant review: generated content is not applied to Shopify until the merchant takes the apply action.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain shop configuration, subscription state, product source snapshots, and rewrite records while they are needed to provide the App, preserve the merchant's workflow, resolve disputes, or meet legal and security obligations.
When Shopify delivers a valid app-uninstalled or shop-redaction event, the App removes the shop record and its linked configuration, subscription, and product rewrite records. Limited deidentified usage records, security logs, accounting information, and backup copies may remain for a reasonable period where they are no longer linked to an active shop or where retention is required for security, fraud prevention, billing reconciliation, legal compliance, or disaster recovery.
A merchant may also contact us to ask about access, correction, or deletion. We may need the store domain and other details to verify that the requester is authorized to act for the shop.
7. Security
FeedX uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including HTTPS in production, access controls, encrypted Shopify and provider credentials at rest, filtered sensitive parameters, database controls, and restricted administrative access. No service can guarantee absolute security, so merchants should never send passwords or access tokens through support email.
If you believe information connected to the App has been exposed or misused, contact us promptly at [email protected].
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on location and applicable law, a merchant may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability concerning personal information. A merchant can also uninstall the App through Shopify Admin and manage or cancel an App Pricing subscription through Shopify.
If you are a customer of a merchant, direct privacy requests to that merchant first. The merchant controls its storefront and can verify your identity. The App does not request or retain customer-level data for this workflow, but we will cooperate with valid Shopify privacy webhooks.
9. International processing
FeedX and its providers may process information in countries other than the one where a merchant is located. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers and require providers to protect information consistently with applicable law and their contractual commitments.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy as the App, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the App or another appropriate channel.
For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected]. Include the relevant Shopify store domain, but do not include passwords, access tokens, or unnecessary personal information.
